Over a Century of Shaping Champions

From our humble beginnings to producing national and continental athletes, the Wanderers story is one of passion, persistence, and pride.

Our Story

A Legacy Built Over Generations

Wanderers Gymnastics Club was established in 1905 as part of the broader Wanderers Club in Illovo, Johannesburg. What began as a recreational activity for a handful of young athletes has grown into one of South Africa's most respected gymnastics institutions, producing competitors at regional, national, and continental levels.

Through more than a century of political change, social transformation, and evolving sporting landscapes, Wanderers has remained a constant — a place where discipline meets joy, and where every gymnast's potential is nurtured with care and expertise.

Today, we are a proud member of Gymnastics South Africa, upholding the standards and ethics that define the sport at its highest level.
